In her role at the American Cancer Society, Dr. McCullough is involved both in research and translation of the role of diet and weight control in cancer prevention. Using data from the ACS's large prospective cohort study, the Cancer Prevention Study-II, she investigates the association between vitamin D, calcium and cancer, and the role of overall dietary patterns and chronic disease risk. She has authored more than 130 peer-reviewed publications and serves on the committee to create ACS Guidelines on Nutrition and Physical Activity for Cancer Prevention.
Raised in the Northeast, she received her Doctor of Science degree in Nutritional Epidemiology from Harvard School of Public Health. She is on the adjunct faculty at Emory University in the Rollins School of Public Health and the Graduate Division of Biological and Biomedical Sciences.
