Can pituitary tumors be prevented?

Pituitary tumors have not been linked with any known outside risk factors. As a result, there is no known way to prevent these tumors at this time. But for people at high risk of pituitary tumors, there may be ways to find and treat them early, before they cause problems (see "Can pituitary tumors be found early?").
