No one holds a candle to PartyLite when it comes to their support of the American Cancer Society’s relentless fight against cancer. And that support starts at the top with Michael Norris, president of PartyLite U.S.

He enthusiastically embraces the Society’s lifesaving work as a member of the recently created New England Chapter of the American Cancer Society CEOs Against Cancer®.

Michael Norris CEO of PartyLite

“By joining CEOs Against Cancer, I proudly represent the 14-year commitment of our independent PartyLite consultants and corporate staff members in the fight against cancer ... we’re grateful to be able to offer a vital support system that reflects the Society’s principles of working together and helping people prevent and manage all aspects of cancer,” Norris says. “I’m eager to help further those principles by sharing with and learning from other CEOs whose companies are equally committed.”

And what a commitment PartyLite has made over the past 14 years. The number one direct seller of candles and home fragrance products has raised more than $13 million to help save more lives from cancer.

The company’s 60,000 independent consultants are engaged in everything from the Society’s Relay For Life® National Corporate Team Program and Making Strides Against Cancer® National Partners Program to PartyLite’s Change the World program, which offers customers the opportunity to round up their purchase price to the nearest dollar, up to $10, to support the Society. This summer, they will offer Cancer Prevention Study 3 enrollment to more than 5,000 of their independent consultants and the public at their national convention in St. Louis.

Thanks to the support of PartyLite’s consultants and employees, the company’s Relay efforts are consistently ranked among the top three to five National Corporate Team Program members, with 400 teams raising more than $500,000. And in 2010, the company’s first year as a member of the Making Strides National Partners Program, 93 teams raised an impressive $113,000. According to Norris, “Making Strides just seemed to be a natural extension of the passionate commitment of PartyLite to this cause.”

With such strong employee engagement and support, it’s little wonder PartyLite has been recognized the past six years with American Cancer Society Corporate Impact Awards. The prestigious annual awards recognize the efforts of corporations and chief executive officers working together with the Society in workplaces and communities across the United States and around the world to help save more lives and change the course of cancer.
