Is the family notified of my donation amount?
The amount of money donated through memorial or honor donations is confidential.
Can I donate online?
You may donate at any time via the donate page on cancer.org.
Do you have family addresses on file?
Due to privacy laws we are not able to keep address files.
Can I donate by check?
We can process your donation by pledge and mail you an envelope to return your check for payment.
How long does it take to receive an acknowledgment card?
Please allow 7 to 10 days for receipt of cards by USPS.
Do you have a matching gift program?
Yes, we do have a Matching Gift Program. Please check our website for more information or call us at 1-800-227-2345.
Can I donate my hair?
The American Cancer Society is not able to accept hair donations; however, there are two organizations that we refer people to that can accept that type donation. Wigs for Kids: www.wigsforkids.org and Pantene Beautiful Lengths: www.pantene.com
Are donations made to The American Cancer Society tax-deductible?
Yes, monetary donations to the Society are tax-deductible (including donations to events like Relay or Strides); however, certain donations in which the donor receives a good or service in return for a donation are not tax-deductible or may be only partially deductible. This would apply to Society programs such as Golf Pass programs & Discovery Shop purchases.
What are the dimensions of the memorial and honor cards?
A memorial card measures 7" x 5". An honor card measures 7 1/2" x 3 3/4".
