Harborview / EthnoMed

Harborview Medical Center is the county hospital in Seattle, Washington, a Level I Trauma center for 5 states, a designated "Safety Net" hospital with a mission to serve patients from all walks of life, and a teaching hospital for University of Washington Medicine. At Harborview, the Refugee and Immigrant Health Promotion Program’s (RIHPP) mission is to improve the health of the refugee and immigrant communities served by the hospital. Primarily grant supported, RIHPP
partners with ethnic and neighborhood community based organizations as well as local institutions to conduct community health promotion, research and education projects. RIHPP collaborates with the Health Sciences Library at the University
of Washington to manage and produce content for EthnoMed (www.ethnomed.org), a nationally recognized web site dedicated to providing information about refugee and immigrant health care issues.
