Dr. Len's Cancer Blog Users Guide
Welcome to the American Cancer Society’s first blog, Dr. Len’s
Cancer blog. This blog takes a look at major cancer news and provides a forum
for discussing these topics.
Our goal with this blog is to give our readers the opportunity to
gain perspective and insight on cancer news and to interact with us. The most
current postings will be found on the home page, and we have organized the
archives by category and by month and year. It is our hope that this blog will
be a place for thoughtful conversation on cancer topics.
At Dr. Len’s Cancer Blog we want to ensure that everyone stays on
topic. We welcome your thoughts, comments, suggestions and questions, but when
you post, make sure your postings are of general interest to most readers.
Profanity, racial and ethnic slurs, and rude behavior like disparaging personal
remarks will not be tolerated. We reserve the right to remove any postings. We
will strive to present opposing viewpoints and keep the blog as interesting,
diverse and multi-sided as possible. While we want to engage in a conversation
with you, not every post will receive a response. We also ask that you be
patient with Dr. Len while waiting for a response as he has many
responsibilities at the Society and cannot respond immediately.
One final disclaimer – Dr. Len and the Society do not offer
personal medical advice. While you are certainly welcome to ask questions, and
Dr. Len may be able to answer in a general sense, the best thing to do is to
speak with your physician about these questions. Your conversations on this
blog are not a substitute for consultation with your physician who is familiar
with your medical needs. You can also visit our Web site,
www.cancer.org, for information and suggestions
on questions to take to your doctor, and you can call our National Cancer
Information Center anytime day or night, 365 days a year, at 1-800-ACS-2345
(1-800-227-2345) where you will be able to speak with a trained cancer
information specialist.
