What are the key statistics about lymphoma of the skin?
The American Cancer Society’s most recent estimates for all types of non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) in the United States for 2014 are:
- 70,800 new cases of NHL (38,270 in men; 32,530 in women)
- 18,990 deaths from NHL (10,470 in men; 8,520 in women)
Lymphomas of the skin are uncommon, accounting for only a small portion (about 5%) of all non-Hodgkin lymphomas. The rate of skin lymphomas has been rising over the past few decades, although it may have leveled off in recent years. The reasons for this are not known.
