Epidemiologist, American Cancer Society
Carol DeSantis joined the Surveillance and Health Services Research Program at the American Cancer Society in 2004. Prior to joining the Society, she worked as an intern in the Society's Behavioral Research Center while completing her Masters of Public Health in epidemiology from the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University. Carol also has a bachelor of science degree in biology from Messiah College in Grantham, PA.
Carol is the lead author for the biennial reports Breast Cancer Facts & Figures and Cancer Facts & Figures for African Americans. In 2012, she spearheaded the effort to develop the debut Cancer Treatment & Survivorship Facts & Figures 2012-2013. Her research interests include disparities, with particular emphasis on breast cancer.
