Specialists Gather to Discuss Innovations in Cancer Research and Treatment

More than 30,000 cancer specialists from around the world gathered in Chicago this week for the 48th annual meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). The event ran from June 1st through 5th. It featured the latest advances in clinical cancer research.
News announced during each meeting includes the latest findings from cancer clinical trials, including new drug studies, which could change current standards of care.
Len Lichtenfeld, MD, deputy chief medical officer of the American Cancer Society, attended the conference and shared his insights in his blog.
