What are the key statistics about vaginal cancer?
Vaginal cancer is rare. Only about 1 of every 1,100 women will develop vaginal cancer in her lifetime. The American Cancer Society’s estimates for vaginal cancer in the United States for 2016 are:
- About 4,620 new cases will be diagnosed
- About 950 women will die of this cancer.
