General information about treatment
In recent years, some progress has been made in treating people with Waldenstrom macroglobulinemia (WM). Studies have found a number of drugs that work against WM, but few studies compared different treatments to see which if one was better than another. That is why no single standard treatment is used for all patients. It is important to understand all treatment options so that you and your doctor can decide what is best for you. It is often a good idea to seek a second opinion, since it might give you more information and help you feel more confident about the treatment plan you choose.
