Celebration on the Hill™ 2006 was an American Cancer Society Cancer Action NetworkSM (ACS CAN) event that celebrated cancer survivorship while empowering survivors and others to advocate for laws and policies that help fight the disease. At sunset on September 20, 2006, 25,000 luminaries donated by PartyLite Gifts, Inc., were lit around the Capitol Reflecting Pool in Washington, D.C. to remember those lost to cancer, those fighting cancer, and those who fought cancer and won. Traditionally held at Relay For Life events around the country, this ceremony of light symbolized the hope and perseverance with which we continue to fight this disease. Through the Relay For Life National Corporate Team Program, PartyLite's 30,000 independent consultants support the fight against cancer by participating in Relay For Life events in multiple locations throughout the United States. Team donations come from home party, field fund-raising, and customer sales-total roundup to the nearest dollar. In 2008, the PartyLite goal is to surpass the $10 million mark in total ACS donations within its 10 years of giving.
