Sanofi-Aventis was the exclusive presenting sponsor of Relay For Life in Europe from 2004 to 2006. Their generous support has assisted the American Cancer Society in expanding International Relay For Life throughout the region; funding staff, training, and technical assistance; and funding materials development and translation. The result has been the launch of Relay For Life events in Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and Portugal, as well as the successful re-launch of Relay in the United Kingdom. In 2007, 93 Relay For Life events were held in Europe. And the expansion continues, as more than 100 events will be held in Europe next year.
