American Cancer Society Navigator
The American Cancer Society is here to help, no matter who you are.

If you or someone you know... ...has been touched by cancer, call 1.800.ACS.2345 and ask for a Navigator in your community.

“You have cancer.” When you or your loved one hears those words, you may experience a number of feelings. But one thing you don’t have to feel is alone. Because throughout the cancer journey, your American Cancer Society is there.

The American Cancer Society (ACS) offers a variety of programs and services designed to meet the unique needs and concerns of those affected by cancer and their caregivers.

At your fingertips
If you or someone you know has cancer, a single toll-free call to 1.800.ACS.2345 will put you in touch with your American Cancer Society. Trained Cancer Information Specialists are available to assist you 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If you are calling during business hours, ask to speak directly to your local Navigator.

American Cancer Society Navigators act on behalf of those affected by cancer in every community to identify and obtain beneficial resources. Navigators offer free, confidential assistance to cancer patients and those who care for them. Navigators are trained to listen to you, learn your needs and put together a plan of action that is tailor-made just for you. On the web, just click on www.cancer.org for up-to-the-minute information about American Cancer Society programs, services and events in your community.

The American Cancer Society offers a broad range of services targeted to your individual needs. These services are provided to help cancer patients, their families and loved ones cope with the emotional and physical changes that can occur when you hear someone has cancer.

Your American Cancer Society Navigator can tell you more about our survivorship initiatives that include supportive care services such as Reach To Recovery, Look Good …Feel Better and I Can Cope. The American Cancer Society also offers services to reduce barriers to treatment through its at Home (for medical equipment needs), transportation and pain management education programs. In addition to these services, an American Cancer Society Navigator can provide you with a full array of community referrals tailored to your individual needs.

Strength in numbers
Your American Cancer Society Navigator can direct you to the Cancer Survivors Network (CSN), a community created by and for survivors and caregivers. CSN provides an outlet to share and cope with the many challenges and spectrum of emotions that living with cancer can bring. You can visit the CSN web site or connect to prerecorded discussions via the telephone and customize your own pool of information on cancer topics.

Youth Initiatives
The American Cancer Society recognizes the unique impact that childhood cancer has on kids and their families. American Cancer Society Navigators can provide information about children’s oncology camps and youth scholarships for young survivors of childhood cancer.

Survivorship is a team effort
Your American Cancer Society Navigator also knows about powerful companions for you throughout your cancer journey.

There’s a special understanding that only a fellow cancer survivor can provide. There are volunteer cancer survivors who are selected, trained and supervised by your American Cancer Society who serve as Patient Partners. These volunteers call or visit cancer patients and survivors to provide emotional support and non-medical information.

An American Cancer Society Navigator offers free, confidential assistance to cancer patients and those who care for them. Navigators are trained to listen to you, learn your needs and create an individualized plan made just for you.

What can a Navigator do for you?

  • Assist in locating local and national resources
