The American Cancer Society's Speak Out! youth initiative is a unique program that involves young people as advocates in the fight against cancer.
The young people who participate in Speak Out! drive what happens in their schools and communities, including:
- Recruiting members for the Youth Advocacy Network. Members learn about cancer-related issues and share ways to address cancer their communities.
- Learning about Camp Speak Out! -- an annual advocacy-skills training for youth.
- Working with schools and youth groups to include Speak Out! in their tobacco prevention, cessation and control programs.
