Research Grants
The American Cancer Society funds beginning researchers who might not otherwise be eligible for funding by larger grant sources such as the National Cancer Institute. This helps attract new investigators to the field of cancer research.

The American Cancer Society is the largest non-government funder of cancer research in the United States. Since our national research program began in 1946, we have devoted nearly $3 billion to cancer research.




Scholarships
Applications for the Ohio Scholarship for Young Cancer Survivors will be available in the fall. To be included on our mailing list, send your name and address to OhioACS@cancer.org.


Community Investment Grants
Community Investment Grants support local and regional efforts to increase cancer awareness, reach newly diagnosed cancer patients, and promote prevention and early detection. Applications for the next round of grants will be available January 2010.




Hero of Hope Research Awards
Research remains an essential element of the American Cancer Society's mission. Our Hero of Hope Research Awards recognize the individuals who have made significant contributions to the advancements of cancer research and cancer care in Ohio.

The Ohio Division Hero of Hope Research Medal of Honor is designated for representatives of the cancer research and scientific communities to pay tribute to outstanding, long term contributions to the advancement of cancer research in Ohio.

The Ohio Division Hero of Hope Research Champion Award is intended to recognize a layperson outside the scientific community for his or her outstanding statewide contributions in championing cancer research through cancer research awareness, education, service and advocacy.

Transportation Grants
Transportation Grants are awarded to local organizations so that programs may be expanded to provide free transportation to cancer patients. For information on the 2008-2009 cycle, please see Community Investment Grants.
