The Ohio Division Cancer Research Fellowship is intended to strengthen the field of cancer research by encouraging outstanding clinicians and scientists to pursue careers in oncology and academic medicine and to engage in basic or clinical cancer research upon completion of their specialty training. The fellowship in not intended to support PhD candidates already on a research track.

2008 Program Information
| Grant Purpose | To strengthen the field of cancer research by encouraging outstanding clinicians and scientists to pursue careers in oncology and academic medicine and to engage in basic or clinical cancer research upon completion of their specialty training. The fellowship in not intended to support PhD candidates already on a research track. |
| Terms of the Fellowship | - Intended to provide a stipend for a designated period to support a cancer-related project.
- Can be renewed for second-year funding, depending on available funding, using a similar application and submitted jointly by program director and fellow.
- The research must be completed in Ohio.

| Fellows Eligibility | - Intended for M.D.'s, D.O.'s, D.D.S's, Ph.D.'s in Nursing or others not already on a research track.
- U.S. citizen, non-citizen national or permanent resident during the period for which support is requested.
- Must be nominated by a sponsor or advisor who is actively engaged in cancer related research.
- Should not be receiving other American Cancer Society funding for support of salary.

| Institutional Requirements | Fellows must attend institutions that have established training programs in the areas of basic and clinical cancer research.
|
| Stipend | Up to $9,600 for one year, restricted to salary only. Payment made in one installment to the institution. Funds may be supplemented by the institution. |
| Selection Process | Competitive process via review committee of Ohio cancer researchers |
| Reporting Requirements | Progress report due within 30 days of fellowship completion |
