| Coaches vs. Cancer® | |
|
The Coaches vs. Cancer program was created in 1993 by the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC). The program exists to leverage the strength, community leadership and celebrity of our country’s basketball coaches to fight cancer. The program raises awareness to the cancer problem and in turn, reduces cancer risk through education programs while raising funds for American Cancer Society research, advocacy, education and patient services programs. Since its inception, the Coaches vs. Cancer program has raised more than $30 million to benefit the American Cancer Society, the nation’s leading voluntary health organization. More than 410 men's and women's college basketball coaches participate in Coaches vs. Cancer initiatives across the country. In Pennsylvania, they are:
