How Many People Get Hodgkin Disease?

The American Cancer Society's most recent estimates for Hodgkin disease in the United States are for 2009:

  • 8,510 new cases of Hodgkin disease
  • 1,290 deaths from Hodgkin disease

Both children and adults can get Hodgkin disease but it is most common in 2 age groups: early adulthood (ages 15 to 40) and late adulthood (after age 55). About 10% to 15% of all cases are found in children and teens.
