How Many People Get Laryngeal and Hypopharyngeal Cancers?

The American Cancer Society's most recent estimates for laryngeal and hypopharyngeal cancers in the United States are for 2009:

  • 12,290 new cases of laryngeal cancer
  • 3,660 deaths from laryngeal cancer
  • 2,850 new cases of hypopharyngeal cancer

These numbers a falling a little each year, mainly because fewer people are smoking.
