Regular colon cancer screening is important for men and women 50 and older. You can learn more about the recommended tests
in the ACS Colorectal Cancer Screening Guidelines.
Did you know? Colon tests can spot cancer early on, when treatments have the greatest success rates and
smaller effects on a patient's quality of life. Colon tests are also the only way doctors can find (and then remove)
dangerous growths in your colon before they actually turn into cancer.
Reducing
Colon Cancer Risk: Because your chance of developing colon cancer goes up as you age, ACS recommends
getting your first colon test at age 50. But no matter what your age, you can take some actions right now to lower your
risk of colon cancer.
