What does cancer have to do with politics? Whether we like it or not, cancer is a political issue. Government officials make decisions about health issues that affect your life. Issues include cancer research, awareness, early detection and prevention programs, treatment, and access to quality care for all Americans. That’s why the American Cancer Society, an organization Americans have trusted for almost ninety years, is now enlisting the public to help carry the fight even further. Together we can apply enough pressure—through letters, emails, phone calls and visits—that we can convince lawmakers fighting cancer should be a higher national priority. EVERY AMERICAN HAS THE POTENTIAL TO GET CANCER. AND THE POTENTIAL TO CURE IT. No matter how much or how little time you have to give, please participate in the American Cancer Society’s Action Network. We’ll keep you informed of upcoming issues and let you know when we need you to write a letter, send an e-mail, make a call, or attend a meeting, all completely up to you, on your own terms. Take action now on cancer legislative issues, or find out what's hot in your state. Please, do what you can, and join other concerned Americans in making the fight against cancer a higher national priority. Keep up to date with the latest alerts and updates! |
