Because there are no avoidable risk factors for neuroblastoma,
there is no proven way to prevent the disease.
Some studies suggest that having mothers take prenatal
multi-vitamins or folic acid might lower the risk of neuroblastoma, but
further research is needed to confirm this.
If there is a history of neuroblastoma in your family, you may
want to talk with a genetic counselor about your children's risks of
developing the disease. It is important to remember, though, that
familial neuroblastoma is very rare.
