Consider the Choices
Save lives. Fulfill yours.

Choices are the building blocks of a great career, and the American Cancer Society offers more choices than you may have imagined. We’re a national organization with dedicated and passionate staff members, and we offer purpose-driven careers dedicated to our mission.

So what will your career with us be?

Consider the choices that complement your goals and experience.

Research

The American Cancer Society is the largest source of private, not-for-profit cancer research funding in the United States, second only to the US government in total dollars spent.

Advocacy

The goal of our advocacy efforts is to ensure that issues related to cancer get the attention, the legislative action, and the funding they deserve. We are committed to fighting cancer by calling, writing, and visiting elected representatives and policy-makers.

Education

The single most important factor in curing cancer is finding and treating it early. Educating the public about cancer and its causes plays a critical role in this process. By encouraging open and frank discussion of cancer, the American Cancer Society has helped the public see cancer as a disease that often can be prevented and in many cases cured.

Service

The American Cancer Society provides cancer patients and their caregivers with access to a variety of community-based programs and services to help improve their quality of life. Our National Cancer Information Center is available 24 hours a day to provide accurate and current information to cancer patients, their families, and the general public.

Volunteers

Our volunteers are residents of local communities who serve specific responsibilities at the many levels of the organization. Volunteers represent diverse backgrounds, ages, and interests and come to the American Cancer Society with different skills and areas of expertise.

We need people like you.

We’re in constant contact with the government, corporations, foundations, academic institutions, civic organizations, and the media. We also work with people one-on-one, from research scientists and donors to volunteers, patients, and physicians. All of these relationships are possible because people like you keep the American Cancer Society on the front line of public policy and health science year after year.
