Some of the critical projects your donations can fund include:

• Seed funding to launch cancer fighting projects for health care and community organizations throughout India. Projects funded by the India Cancer Initiative includes one by HRIDAY, a Delhi based non-profit organization, where students from 40 schools and 5 colleges in Delhi visited over 400 hotels and restaurants to sensitize owners about the rules related to banning smoking in public places.
• Increasing awareness that cancer can be fought successfully. The India Cancer Initiative is working in Ahmedabad, Gujarat to increase cancer early detection awareness and knowledge among front line health care providers. Next, we will work to increase the public’s awareness on simple, low-cost ways to find cancer early.
• Reaching out to the media. The India Cancer Initiative’s media trainings have led to numerous articles written about cancer and tobacco which helps saves lives by raising awareness, debunking myths, and creating demand for more cancer programs and services.
