The Alabama Tobacco Quitline is a free service for all Alabamians who want to quit tobacco. If you, or a friend or family member are ready to quit smoking or chewing tobacco, the Quitline is available to help. Since April 2005, thousands of Alabamians have called the Quitline to help themselves or family members learn how to be tobacco free. Information and counseling sessions are confidential. All you need is a phone. Eligible callers who begin counseling can receive a free, four-week supply of the nicotine patch to assist in their attempt to quit.

Health care providers can help their patients who want to quit smoking by enrolling them in the Quitline's fax referral system. Simply have the patient sign the fax referral consent form and the Alabama Tobacco Quitline will contact the patient. In return, the referring provider will receive progress reports (with the patient's consent) on their attempt to quit.
