To stay at the Hope Lodge, your hospital social work professional must refer you. The Hope Lodge staff will coordinate with your health care professional to put your name on our waiting list. It is advisable to initiate the referral process well in advance of the first date of treatment, as patients are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Please note that a request is simply that and does not ensure that a room will be given or that a room will be available. A confirmation from Hope Lodge, not the hospital, must be obtained before a room is guaranteed.

Room requests for less than three nights cannot be confirmed until within 24 hours of the actual date needed. Priority is given to long-term stays. Booking in excess of three nights but continually using less may result in refusal of future stays.

All room requests must go through the hospital social work department at Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.

Please contact the following Hershey Medical Center social work contact who meets your needs:
Matt Winger, Bone Marrow Transplant, 717.531.8521, pager # 3108
Krista Laszlo, Inpatient Cancer Treatment, 717.531.8521, pager # 285144
Tom Edmunds, Outpatient Cancer Treatment, 717.531.8521, pager #0699

All other needs or if you're unsure who to contact, call the social work office directly at 717.531.8306.

After contacting the proper social work contact, that person will review the eligibility requirements and answer any questions you may have. They will make the referral if deemed appropriate.

A representative from Hope Lodge will then contact you with a room confirmation or determine if you want to be placed on a waiting list.
