American Cancer Society Prostate Cancer Survivorship Care Guidelines

The American Cancer Society developed the prostate cancer survivorship care guidelines to help primary care clinicians and other health care professionals provide comprehensive clinical follow-up care for adult post-treatment prostate cancer survivors. The guidelines were developed by a multidisciplinary expert workgroup using current evidence and expert consensus. Existing guidelines for health promotion, surveillance for prostate cancer recurrence, screening for second primary cancers, and symptom management were referenced when available. The guidelines discuss recommendations for health promotion, surveillance for prostate cancer recurrence, screening for second primary cancers, assessment and management of physical and psychosocial long-term and late effects of prostate cancer and its treatment, and care coordination.
