American Cancer Society Receives Award from the Institute for Clinical and Translational Science and Community Action Planning Group at UC Irvine
On October 28, the American Cancer Society Orange County Region was recognized for Outstanding Community Based Organization at the Third Annual Chancellor’s Community Health Research Awards Dinner at UC Irvine. Since the inception of ICTS, the Orange County Region has played an active role in providing the group with support and resources needed to effectively engage the local community.

UC Irvine Selected for 2010 Coaches vs. Cancer Classic College Basketball Season Opener
The 16th annual 2K Sports Classic benefiting Coaches vs. Cancer® includes the UC Irvine Anteaters among the 12 schools beginning the 2010-11 NCAA Division I men’s college basketball season. By competing in the nation’s premier season-opening event, these schools are helping the American Cancer Society fight for every birthday threatened by cancer in every community.

Orange County Residents Raised More Than $235,000 to Help Save Lives From Breast Cancer
The inaugural 2010 American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk was a huge success! With 8,000 walkers and over 400 volunteers at the Orange County Performing Arts Center, we raised more than $235,000 to save more lives from breast cancer.
