New Online Tool Celebrates Loved Ones Lost to Cancer

AUSTIN, Texas - February 13, 2008 - Commemorate a loved one, celebrate life, and share hope. The American Cancer Society has launched a new resource online.

Mosaic Of HopeSM is the American Cancer Society’s innovative, online resource that enables individuals and families to create personal memorials to honor their loved ones lost to cancer. Or it serves as an inspiring tribute to your loved one winning the fight against cancer. By visiting www.cancer.org/mosaic, you can celebrate the memory of your loved one by sharing photographs, family stories, messages, and remembrances with others—across the country or around the world. You can also encourage family and friends to further the fight against cancer by making a memorial donation.

The American Cancer Society recognizes and understands that coping with the loss of a loved one takes time. The grieving process, the search for answers, and the need to remember are shared by family, friends, coworkers, and neighbors.

Each newly created mosaic joins other individual mosaics to form a larger mosaic of hope in support of a future where cancer is no longer a threatening disease. “It also enables friends and family to find comfort and a new sense of purpose by joining the fight against cancer and supporting the Society’s mission to eliminate the disease,” says Debbie Coppola, director of mass-market income initiatives for the A merican Cancer Society, High Plains Division.

Visit www.cancer.org/mosaic today to commemorate your loved one, celebrate life, and share hope—one mosaic at a time.
