American Cancer Society Partners with Fashion Industry For Third Annual Cure By Design Charlotte
CHARLOTTE, N. C. -The American Cancer Society announced that for the third straight year, the fashion world will join the Society for Cure by Design Charlotte. Cure by Design brings the fashion, design and retail communities together with the local corporate community to raise funds for the fight against cancer. The focus of this special evening is a fashion show spotlighting designer fashions and, more importantly, local cancer survivors modeling them. The survivor models demonstrate the progress being made in the fight against cancer and portray a message of hope for a cure.Community leader, cancer survivor, and 2013 Cure by Design model Harry Jones is serving as 2014 honorary event chair. “I am honored to serve as the honorary chairman of this great event,” said Jones. “As an individual who is in cancer treatment and as a past participant in this event, I have built a personal relationship with the American Cancer Society. The proceeds from this event will benefit so many while, simultaneously, helping the American Cancer Society create a world with less cancer and more birthdays.”
Presented by Novant Health, Cure by Design Charlotte will be held at the Fillmore on Saturday, March 22, 2014, and will include an elegant reception, live and silent auctions and the survivors’ fashion show. Sponsors already signed on include Charlotte Mechanical, Harry Jones Consulting, Novant Health and Piedmont Natural Gas. All proceeds will help the American Cancer Society to fund cancer research and to provide programs and services for individuals facing cancer and their caregivers.
Sponsorships in a variety of levels are available for companies that wish to support American Cancer Society efforts. The Society is also seeking donated auction items. For further information, please call Jennifer Nielson at the American Cancer Society, Jennifer.firstname.lastname@example.org.
