Virginia Krawiec, MPA
Director, Health Professional Training in Cancer Control Program
Virginia (Ginger) Krawiec, MPA, is the director of the Health Professional Training in Cancer Control program for the American Cancer Society Extramural Grants department. She is responsible for seven grant programs that support the clinical and/or research training of health professionals (nurses, physicians and social workers). These health professional training grants promote excellence in cancer prevention and control by providing incentive and support for highly qualified individuals in outstanding training programs or responsible for training. Ms. Krawiec also directs the Institutional Research Grant program.
Ms. Krawiec joined the Society’s National Home Office in 1987 in New York City and subsequently relocated with the Society to Atlanta, Georgia. Prior to taking her current position, she was the administrator of the Sleep-Neuroendocrine Research Unit, a Mental Health Clinical Research Center at New York State Psychiatric Institute. Ms. Krawiec, a New Jersey native, is a graduate of La Salle University and Long Island University, holding a bachelor’s degree in biology and a master’s degree in public administration.
