Letter of Intent Deadline: August 1, 2014
Application Deadline: October 15, 2014
Please Note: ACS Clinical Research Professor Award Suspended
The policies in effect for both the ACS Clinical Research Professor and ACS Research Professor awards set a ceiling for the maximum number of awardees at any given time. New awards are made as previous awardees either complete their terms, retire or relinquish their awards. At this point in time, we do not have an open slot to allow us to award a new ACS Clinical Research Professor this year. As a consequence, the application system for this award will not be opened for the October 2015 deadline. Since there are no available slots this year due to administrative limitations, if any issues arise regarding eligibility, we will gladly extend the window of opportunity for any candidate by an additional year.
The American Cancer Society offers a limited number of grants to mid-career investigators who have made seminal contributions in the area of cancer control that have changed the direction of clinical, psychosocial, behavioral, health policy or epidemiologic cancer research. Furthermore, it is expected that these investigators will continue to provide leadership in their research area. Up to two awards are made annually for a five-year term that can be renewed once. The award of up to $80,000 per year (direct costs only) may be used for salary or research project support.
Interested individuals should submit their curriculum vitae with a complete bibliography and a letter of intent that briefly describes their seminal contributions to research. This information must be submitted via the Research Professor letter of intent on proposalCENTRAL. Upon receipt we will provide appropriate guidance either by telephone or email.
