radiocontrast dye

[ray-dee-o-CON-trast] also called dye, contrast dye, radiocontrast medium. Any material used in imaging tests such as x-rays, MRIs, and CT scans to help outline the body parts being examined. These may be injected, infused, or ingested (drunk). See also imaging tests.
