What is the registration fee?

For those registering by midnight EST on May 26, 2008, the registration fee is $200, with a reduced rate of $100 for students, medical residents, and post-graduate fellows. For those registering after that date, the registration fee will be $250, with a reduced rate of $135 for students, medical residents, and post-graduate fellows.

Can I register for the conference by telephone?

No, registrations must be completed on-line.

How do I know if my registration submitted on-line was received?

You will receive an auto response email shortly after you submit the form with the details of your registration. Once your payment has been processed, you will receive your confirmation of registration, which is your invoice/receipt.

Do I have to make my own hotel reservation?

You reserve your room with the conference hotel, the Grand Hyatt Atlanta in Buckhead, when you register for the conference on-line. Please do not contact the conference hotel directly to make your reservation. The Grand Hyatt is offering a special conference rate of $169 per night plus tax (single or double occupancy).

Although there are also other hotels in the area, this special rate is only available at the Grand Hyatt Atlanta in Buckhead.

Are there options for my strict dietary requirements?

The hotel is able to accommodate special dietary requests. When you are registering on-line, you will be asked whether you have special dietary needs, such as vegetarian meals, food allergies, kosher food requirements, etc.

Can I receive continuing education units for attending the conference?

This conference is not offering continuing education units. However, you may wish to contact the organization with which you maintain continuing education units to see if you can submit a meeting schedule for attendance and/or proof of your presentation/poster at the conference for credit.

What is the conference dress attire?

There is no required attire; however, at previous conferences, participants have generally worn business attire or business casual.

What kind of weather can I expect?

The average June temperature in Atlanta is 77 degrees, with an average high of 87 degrees and an average low of 67 degrees. Average precipitation is 3.63 inches. Summers in Atlanta are relatively humid.

What transportation services are available from the airport to the hotel?

Taxis: A flat rate is available from/to the airport for $38 (Buckhead), with a $2.00 charge for each additional person. Please tell the taxi driver at the beginning of the ride that you would like the flat rate.

Shuttle Service: The Atlanta Link is the exclusive shuttle service running to and from the airport. Rates to Buckhead are $20.50 one way or $37 roundtrip. Service operates from 6-12 am. Public Transit (MARTA): The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) train has a station within the airport that goes to Buckhead. The hotel is one block from the Buckhead Station (N7). Train fare is $1.75. Service runs from 5-1:30 am on weekdays and 5:30-1:00 am on weekends. Is parking available at the hotel?

The Grand Hyatt Atlanta offers two parking options to guests. For self-parking facilities adjacent to the hotel, the daily fee is $17. Indoor valet parking, with in/out privileges, is available at a rate of $24 per day.
