The Hope Lodge Day-of-the-Month Club Donor Program
The Hope Lodge Day-of-the-Month Club offers donors the opportunity to honor a special someone or a special day, such as a birthday, anniversary, or perhaps the day you learned you were cancer free. Reserve that special day, or a weekend, or month, as your “Official” Day-of-the-Month at the AstraZeneca Hope Lodge, and it will become a special day in the life of the guests and caregivers by covering Lodge operating costs, programs, and services for that period of time.
As a thank you for your contribution, your name, or the name of your special someone, will be posted at the Lodge, and along with receiving individual acknowledgment, you will be invited to the annual Day-of-the-Month Club reception.
To learn more about the Day-of-the-Month Club, or to make a gift to the AstraZeneca Hope Lodge, please contact Chris Thomas at 508-270-4830 or at christopher.thomas@cancer.org, or fill out our Day-of-the-Month Club Form.

When the Hope Lodge opened in November 2008, $27 million had been raised by the volunteer Boston Regional Campaign Cabinet, co-chaired by David S. Rosenthal, MD and Burt Adelman, MD.
The outstanding efforts of this committee and the many others who supported the effort made it possible for the American Cancer Society to open the AstraZeneca Hope Lodge Center in Boston two full years ahead of schedule, but fundraising efforts are still underway. When the Lodge opened, we still needed to raise $4 million to cover construction costs and related capital expenses, and we still need your support.
In 2004, the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute invested $2.5 million in the project, followed in 2005 by gifts of $2 million each from Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham & Women’s Hospital, the founding hospitals of Partners HealthCare. The combined investments of the three hospitals enabled the American Cancer Society to purchase the site of the former Vincent Memorial Hospital for the new Lodge. In December 2006, the American Cancer Society, New England Division, received a $7 million gift from AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals LP, one of the world's leading pharmaceutical companies, to name the building at 125 South Huntington Avenue.
Four gifts of $1 million or more, as well as numerous six-figure gifts, have been received from individual philanthropists, organizations, and foundations committed to increasing access to state-of-the-art treatment for cancer patients living outside the greater Boston area.
