About Our Facility

The McConnell-Raab Hope Lodge offers:

  • 20 guest suites with private baths
  • Common kitchen area with four ovens, sinks, and stovetops
  • A living room with piano, a game room, and a television room
  • Computer work stations and a library
  • Private sitting areas and a courtyard garden
  • Washers and dryers
  • Transportation to and from treatment
  • Cancer support programs and services

While the facility offers many of the comforts of home, the true magic of the Hope Lodge is the inviting atmosphere. Other guests, facing similar circumstances, rally around each other, offering strength and support. The volunteers and staff, many of whom are cancer survivors, strive to create an environment where guests can relax and concentrate on getting well.

The McConnell-Raab Hope Lodge opened on May 28, 2002 in Greenville, North Carolina. It is named after two very special Doctors named Dr. William McConnell and his wife Dr. Mary Raab-McConnell. This couple is loved and respected throughout the region and have devoted much of their lives to the fight against cancer. It is the only Hope Lodge in North Carolina. Looking like a southern Mansion, it is 27,000 square feet, with 20 individual guest suites. Since opening, the Lodge has served over 900 guests and their families.

From North (Bethel): Take Hwy 11 South towards Greenville. Hwy 11 turns into Memorial Drive. Pass the airport and Pitt Memorial Hospital. Take a right on to Stantonsburg Road. (There is a McDonald's on your right). Go through 3 stoplights and take a right at the 4th stoplight, onto Wellness Drive. The Hope Lodge will be on your left.

From South (Kinston): Take Hwy 11 North towards Greenville. Hwy 11 turns into Memorial Drive. Take a left onto Arlington Blvd. (There is a McDonald's at this intersection). At second light, take left onto Stantonsburg Road. Take right at next stoplight onto Wellness Drive. The Hope Lodge will be on your left.

From South (New Bern): Take 43 North towards Greenville. Hwy 43 turns into Charles Blvd. At third stoplight, take left onto Greenville Blvd. At next stoplight, take right onto Arlington Blvd. Go through 4 stoplights, take left at the 5th light onto Stantonsburg Rd. Take right at next stoplight onto Wellness Drive. The Hope Lodge will be on your left.

From North (Rocky Mount): Take Hwy 43 towards Greenville. Hwy 43 meets intersection of Memorial Blvd. Take a right onto Memorial Blvd. Take a right onto Stantonsburg Road. Go through 3 stoplights and take a right at 4th stoplight onto Wellness Drive. The Hope Lodge will be on your left.

From East (Washington): Take Hwy 264 West towards Greenville. Take a right onto 264 By Pass. Proceed until by pass ends and take the exit towards Greenville. Go through 2 stoplights and take a left at the 3rd stoplight onto Wellness Drive. The Hope Lodge will be on your left.

From West (Wilson/I-95): Take Hwy 264 Business into Greenville. Go through 2 stoplights and take a left at the 3rd stoplight onto Wellness Drive. The Hope Lodge will be on your left.
