To stay at Hope Lodge St. Louis, patients must:

  • Have a referral from their doctor, nurse, or social worker verifying treatment.
  • Be receiving outpatient treatment at a St. Louis facility.
  • Be able to care for themselves or bring one person, age 18 or older, who can care for them. (If a child under 18 is in treatment, two adults may stay with the child).
  • Any patient requiring a skilled nursing staff is not eligible to stay.

All referrals must be approved by the Hope Lodge manager before a guest can stay. Referrals are approved Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Rooms are available on a first come, first serve basis.

Guest referrals received more than 48 hours of an anticipated arrival will receive a hospitality call from a staff member.

Although taking a tour of Hope Lodge prior to checking in is not always convenient, we recommend that the patient and caregiver do so if possible. Our tenured staff will make you feel welcome long before you arrive

While everything is done to ensure the contentment of our guests, our Hope Lodge is not a medical facility. For more specific information on the eligibility requirements, please contact June Shinners at (314) 286-8150 June.Shinners@cancer.org.

News:

Hope Lodge Council Chairman Garry Pincock announced the launch of a completely new look for the Hope Lodge program on the American Cancer Society’s corporate website, cancer.org. The redesign includes detailed information relevant to the patients and caregivers that stay at American Cancer Society Hope Lodges. Each of the 26 Hope Lodges around the country has its own “microsite” showcasing lodge information, virtual tours and guest comments.

"The purpose of this project is to give the Hope Lodge pages a consistent look utilizing templates that will also allow for robust, customizable copy for each Hope Lodge," said Pincock. "The design is being driven by content that will provide useful information for our primary audience--potential Hope Lodge guests."

Highlights of the redesigned pages also include the ability to make online donations to the Lodges and RSVP for Lodge events.
