About Our Facility
The 47,000 sq. ft. Benjamin Mendick Hope Lodge includes 40 suites with private baths, community dining areas, six kitchens, a family room, laundry rooms, a library with computer access and recreational areas. The fourth floor of the Mendick Hope Lodge is reserved for bone-marrow transplant patients who have special needs. In addition, the facility features a day room for outpatients and their families who need a respite from the clinical hospital environment.
The American Cancer Society's Benjamin Mendick Hope Lodge is a short-term residential facility designed to offer housing and support free of charge to any cancer patient who travels to the Tampa Bay area for treatment. While most of our residents receive treatment at Moffitt Cancer Center, we provide lodging for patients undergoing treatment at Tampa Bay area cancer centers.
We provide kitchens for residents to prepare meals and store their food, and offer an inviting dining room where patients can connect with other Hope Lodge guests. In addition to a library stocked with books for all reading levels, our facility offers a game room, screened porch and day room complete with a big screen television. Each of these spaces encourages guests to connect with each other. Patients are also welcome to bring family and friends to these common areas as a way to provide a break from the hospital.
At the Benjamin Mendick Hope Lodge, American Cancer Society staff and volunteers are always there to help. Staff are onsite 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and our caring, compassionate volunteers are available every day of the week to ensure our guests have a great experience during their stay at the Hope Lodge.
