CVS Health® is the official retail pharmacy partner of the American Cancer Society, deepening the relationship between the leading health care innovation company and the leader in the fight against cancer.

CVS Health® has been a supporter of the American Cancer Society since 1990. In 2016, these two organizations came together to support tobacco prevention and cessation. The American Cancer Society has provided tobacco-control expertise and support to CVS Health’s Be The First initiative, the company’s five-year, $50 million commitment to helping deliver the first tobacco-free generation. As part of that effort, CVS Health and the American Cancer Society have helped 104 colleges and universities advocate for, adopt, and implement 100% smoke- and tobacco-free campus policies, impacting more than 2.4 million students.

Our National Partnership

In 2018, CVS Pharmacy became the exclusive official retail pharmacy partner of the American Cancer Society and committed to supporting ACS’s breakthrough research, patient programs and services, and free 24/7 cancer helpline.

This year, we are focusing our campaign on increasing awareness of sun safety.  Skin cancer is by far the most common type of cancer, and it can be prevented and with so much to celebrate this summer, we want sun safety to be one of them.

Anyone can get skin cancer, and more than 5 million skin cancers are diagnosed each year in the United States. The sun can damage your skin year-round, but you can help reduce your risk of skin cancer by protecting yourself from the sun’s harmful effects. So, wherever your summer gathering takes you, seek shade, wear your sunscreen, and stay sun-safe!

Together with CVS Health, we can do more to support the 1 in 3 Americans who will develop cancer in their lifetime, those currently in treatment, and the 18 million survivors who have a history of having cancer.

Our customers and colleagues share our commitment to giving back to the communities we serve. This in-store campaign provides an opportunity to get involved and support the American Cancer Society’s critical efforts to combat cancer and educate people on sun safety this Summer.

Support ACS While You Shop At CVS

Between June 20 – July 17, 2021, CVS Pharmacy customers can honor and support those affected by cancer by rounding up their change or making a $1 or $3 donation at the register at all CVS Pharmacy locations, nationwide.

Together, the American Cancer Society and CVS Health have the expertise and reach to help people in communities across the nation better understand and engage in sun safety as cancer prevention. These efforts, as well as the dollars donated by CVS customers, serve as an important continuation of our partnership to improve lives for cancer patients through research, advocacy, and patient support.
