also called PAP. A blood test, like the prostate-specific antigen (PSA) test, that may be done when looking for evidence of prostate cancer. Unlike the PSA test, the PAP test is not useful for prostate cancer screening. (This not the same as the Pap screening test for cervical cancer; for that, see Pap test.)
