What is No-Shave November?

No-Shave November is a non-profit organization that is devoted to raising cancer awareness and funds to support cancer prevention, research, and education. No-Shave November is a month-long campaign during which participants forgo shaving in order to evoke conversation and raise cancer awareness. The idea is that people will ask men about their facial hair and it will spark conversation about men’s health issues. Learn more about how you can get involved and start getting hairy at All proceeds from the campaign are the property of No-Shave November, which distributes funds to officially partnered organizations. Net proceeds from the 2016 No-Shave November campaign will be split evenly among the nonprofit partners and the American Cancer Society stands to receive 25% of raised funds.


No-Shave November started out as a virtual philanthropic campaign created by the Hill family of Illinois in to raise overall cancer awareness and funds to support the American Cancer Society’s mission. Since the beginning of their partnership in 2013, No-Shave November has contributed $1,400,000 to the American Cancer Society.

How to Get Involved

Supporters are encouraged to visit the No-Shave November site and form or join a team to participate in the No-Shave movement. In addition, merchandise is available for purchase with proceeds contributed to the American Cancer Society.
