Our Patient Services Commitment in Illinois
If you or someone you know is struggling with a cancer diagnosis, help is close at hand.
The American Cancer Society offers a full range of free support services to give cancer patients in our state the best possible chance to get well. In 2009 we assisted more than 27,000 patients and caregivers. In 2010 we are committed to serving 30,000 new cancer patients.
We’re here for everyone facing cancer
The Society offers 3 forms of support:
Reliable cancer information – Answers for all kinds of cancer questions, plus information on clinical trials, treatment options, and much more.
Day-to-day help – Transportation to treatment appointments, free wigs and hats, help with insurance and prescription questions … even help finding a place to stay at reduced rates when patients must receive treatment far from home.
Emotional support –Programs that pair patients with others who’ve survived the same form of cancer and special events for cancer survivors and caregivers.
