Kelly Doss is the Executive Vice President and Operating Officer of the American Cancer Society's Mid-South Division which serves communities in Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee.

As EVP and Operating Officer, Kelly is the Mid-South Division's senior-most staff executive, driving development and implementation of the Society's mission and income strategies across six states, and engaging corporate executives, high-level donors, and leadership volunteers in furthering the fight against cancer. Under his leadership, the Division serves 59,000 cancer patients and caregivers; engages thousands of volunteers to support community-based programs; inspires and equips hundreds of companies to provide healthy workplaces; and raises $48,000,000 annually to help more people stay well, get well, find cures, and fight back against cancer.

Kelly has a long history with our organization. He served for 17 years as the Mid-South Division's chief financial officer, was promoted to senior vice president of operations and was named the Mid-South Division executive vice president in October 2013. Kelly brings a long history of experience gained during his career with the American Cancer Society, which spans over three decades. He began his career in the Alabama Division in 1984 as the finance director and held several positions including income director, deputy EVP, and interim EVP. He has been responsible for numerous operational departments including human resources, finance and accounting, information technology, data management, facility management, purchasing and was heavily involved with the development and operations of the five Mid-South Hope Lodge® facilities.

Kelly earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and has taken several post graduate business courses. He is actively involved in his church where he serves as the chair of the Finance Committee and a member of the Parish Council.  He is also a past board member of the Just Keep Smiling Foundation that provides funding to alleviate the financial burden for families with critically ill children and served on the Board of Trustees of his local Fire and Rescue Department.

Having lost both of his grandfathers to cancer, Kelly is dedicated in a personal way to the fight against the disease and strives to provide a challenging but enjoyable workplace for career oriented staff and an rewarding organization to serve for volunteers. He enjoys traveling, snow skiing, boating, and weekends at the lake.  He resides in Birmingham, Alabama with his wife Carla. They have three grown children and two granddaughters.

Diana Diaz

Diana Diaz, R.N., M.S., has been a volunteer with the American Cancer Society for more than thirty years. She received her B.S.N. and M.S. from The Ohio State University with a special focus in oncology care and finds that her background augments her “volunteer career” tremendously. She has volunteered in almost all capacities for the Society, including income development and health promotion activities, serving locally as Relay For Life® co-chair and ICC facilitator and facilitator-trainer.

She has been a member of the Mid-South Division Board of Directors since 1997, only rotating off for one year, and was awarded the St. George Medal in 1998. She has served as the Division Board secretary, Division Board treasurer, and chair of the Division Audit and Stewardship Committee, and is currently Chair of the Division Board.

Diana served on the National Board of Directors from 2009-2013. She has served on the National Nominating Committee, the Policy Governance Workgroup, the Health Promotions Advisory Group, the Governance Committee, and the Stakeholder’s Committee. She participated in the Nationwide Leadership Development Program and has co-chaired the Talent Strategy Advisory Group. Her priorities have focused on the volunteer/staff partnership and career pathing for volunteers within the organization.

She is currently serving on the Stakeholder’s Committee and is a member of the National Volunteer Implementation Training Team.

Diana enrolled as a CPS-3 study participant at Celebration on the Hill in 2006, and is a member of ACS CAN. She is a retired medical practice manager and resides in Gallatin, Tennessee.

Ed Coulter, of Mountain Home, Ark. is the 2013 President of the Board of Directors of the Mid-South Division.  

Ed recently retired in 2012 from Arkansas State University as Chancellor after a 46-year history in education. Specifically, he served  42-years in higher education serving as consultant, professor and many executive level positions.  

Ed has been a long-time advocate for the American Cancer Society serving in many roles.  Additionally, he has served as:
