Getting the best care sometimes means cancer patients must travel away from home. This can place an extra emotional and financial burden on patients and caregivers during an already challenging time. Extended Stay America is trying to make this difficult situation easier for both cancer patients and their families through their long standing partnership with the American Cancer Society.

Hotel Keys of Hope

In 2013, with a passion to support a charitable cause so close to the hearts of its employees, Extended Stay America created the Hotel Keys of Hope program to support the American Cancer Society’s Hope Lodge program, forever changing the lives of those in need of lifesaving cancer treatments away from home.

Taking care of people is what we do best

To date, Extended Stay America has donated over 120,000 hotel stays in locations throughout the US and helped more than 15,000 patients and their families overcome the financial stress of traveling for treatment; saving them over $7 million in lodging costs.

“Taking care of people is what we do best,” said Tom Buoy, Extended Stay America's Executive Vice President, Marketing and Revenue Management. “So we are truly delighted to be able to give back to the many communities in which we operate by providing the Hotel Keys of Hope program to cancer patients, thus creating a stay that makes a difference.”

Give Hope

Each year, over 10,000 children under the age of 15 are diagnosed with cancer. It's a diagnosis that can turn a family's life upside down. In an effort to bring awareness to the issue, Extended Stay America is introducing Hope. Hope is a cuddly symbol of kindness and comfort. Extended Stay America - through the support of their guests - is committed to providing 10,000 Hope bears to children's hospitals throughout America with the simple goal of bringing a smile to the face of a child battling cancer.
