Lymphedema

Lymphedema is a build-up of lymph fluid in the fatty tissues just under your skin. This build-up causes swelling (or edema), most often in the arms or legs. Lymphedema can result from surgery or radiation therapy to treat certain cancers. 

What Is Lymphedema?

Some cancer treatments cause swelling in a part of the body. This swelling is called lymphedema. Find out more about lymphedema and what you should watch for.

For People at Risk of Lymphedema

If your cancer treatment has put you at risk for lymphedema, there are things you can do to help decrease your chances of developing lymphedema.
