Resources for Stool-based Testing

The American Cancer Society FluFIT program is intended to assist medical practices in increasing colorectal cancer (CRC) screening. It has been demonstrated in the medical literature that offering and providing take-home fecal occult blood tests (FOBTs) or fecal immunochemical tests (FITs) to patients at the time of their annual flu shot increases CRC screening rates.

Stool tests are an important component of effective CRC screening programs. The Clinicians Reference provides state-of-the-science information about different types of stool tests and brands with published evidence supporting their use in CRC screening.
