Regions covered: Idaho, North Dakota, and Oregon

Lauren Olander joined the Society in June of 2013 as a Community Manager with her focus on the Central Oregon community.  In Central Oregon, Lauren was responsible for working with her communities to share the lifesaving mission of American Cancer Society, help educate cancer patients and their families about the resources and local services available to them, as well as oversee multiple Relay for Life events.

Within her first year with American Cancer Society, Lauren started a new Relay for Life event in one of her communities and continued to grow her Relay for Life events to higher income levels than ever reached before.  In 2015, she moved into the role of Senior Community Manager and continued to work with her local cancer center, support volunteers in two American Cancer Society Cancer Resource Centers, helped start up new programs and services for patients in the Central Oregon Community.  Lauren’s true passion is helping spread the mission of American Cancer Society and to make sure no cancer patient or family member ever feel like they are going through their cancer journey alone.

Prior to joining ACS, Lauren graduated from Boston University with a major in Criminal Justice and Psychology and a minor in Sociology.  Following graduation, she moved to California to attend Law School at Pepperdine University School of Law.  She then joined the District Attorney’s Office followed by moving into private practice in downtown Los Angeles.

Lauren and her family moved to Central Oregon in 2008 to enjoy the outdoor lifestyle and she spends free time with her family hiking, biking, cross country skiing and enjoying the beautiful mountains of Central Oregon.  On the weekends, you can usually find her at a Cyclocross race with her oldest son or a baseball game with her youngest son. No matter where she is, or what she is doing, she will always be telling you about the latest work of American Cancer Society.
