Volunteering Opportunities

St. Louis Hope Lodge Volunteering Opportunities

We are always looking for volunteers to become ‘Hope Lodge Heroes’.  Many volunteer jobs are tasks similar to those you do around your home. Although these tasks may seem simple, they are extremely important and greatly appreciated by our staff and guests. We hope you find a task that is enjoyable as well as rewarding.

Individual Opportunities:

  • Assist with Housekeeping: Tuesday thru Saturday assist our housekeeper in cleaning guest rooms, kitchens, and day rooms. Also tasks such as vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, cleaning windows and many others.
  • Gardening: If you enjoy being outdoors and getting your hands dirty? You can be a garden volunteer. This would consist of planting, pulling weeds, watering and just sprucing up the gardens. No mowing or shrub cutting required.
  • Planning Guest/Patient Activities: Activities such as bingo, board games, crafts, movie nights. We are also always open for new ideas. Most of these types of activities would take place in the evenings.
  • Field Trips: Do you like to drive? You can take our Hope Lodge van and take guests on outings to places such as Zoo, Museums, theater, grocery stores, and shopping malls.

Group Opportunities:

  • Guest Dinners: Prepare a nutritious dinner for patients/guests during the week -- Pasta Night, BBQ, Soup and Salad, Breakfast for dinner, and any other delicious meal you could think of. You can either drop your meal off, or stay and visit with Hope Lodge guests.
  • Group Cleaning: Group clean-up on the weekend or weekdays. Help give the Lodge a real "spring cleaning". Truly deep cleaning of the Lodge’s common areas.
