Amy Myers

Amy has served as Philanthropy Officer at Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute (SBP) in La Jolla, California, which was founded in 1976 as the La Jolla Cancer Research Foundation. Before SBP, Amy spent 14 years with Big Brothers Big Sisters, serving in leadership positions in San Diego County as the Program Director and Director of Corporate Development. She is also a proud Big Sister to Trinity, her Little Sister from the Operation Bigs military mentoring program.

Amy has experience as a passionate fundraising volunteer and Team Captain for the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure from 2010-2015. During this time, her team raised $160,000 for the cause. Amy has lost two close friends to breast cancer, which motivates her in the fight against this disease.

Amy hails from the Kansas City area originally, and received her undergraduate and master's degrees at Kansas State University. She met her husband, Mike, in San Diego, and he is also a KC native. They have a young daughter, Madelyn, and a rescue dog, Dublin. Amy enjoys San Diego's beautiful climate which allows for wonderful opportunities to explore the outdoors all year long.
